Let's TalkSimon Ong
Executive and Career Coach
A sounding board with no agenda but yours.
Accredited Director, Singapore Institute of Directors
I'm Simon Ong. With over 30 years of executive leadership experience — predominantly in Human Resources and Operations, across private and public sector organisations — I combine deep corporate context with rigorous, non-directive coaching methodology.
Today I coach senior leaders and individuals one-on-one. My work is not therapy, hand out advice, or consulting. It's a dedicated safe space, on a regular cadence, to slow down, challenge your assumptions, unlock your own solutions, and make decisions you can stand behind — about your team, your role, and the trade-offs no one else sees.
Clients come to me at inflection points: a promotion that's changed the job, a situation that is complex to navigate, or individuals in transition to discover their next direction.
Clarity precedes confident transformation — meaningful growth begins with clarity of self, perspective, and purpose.
My Values in Action
Autonomy
I ask open questions to solicit your inner thoughts instead of jumping in with my opinions.
Curiosity
I hold no assumptions and approach every challenge with a fresh pair of eyes.
Candor
I point out patterns or contradictions I hear in your stories to bring awareness to your blind spots.
Accountability
I hold you accountable for your committed actions and nudge you when agreed actions are not taken.
Authenticity
I show up as a real and genuine person in every session, creating a space where you feel safe to be vulnerable.
Coaching Approach
Shaped around your specific context, not a fixed programme.
Areas I coach on
Wherever you are and whatever you're facing, the partnership is shaped around your specific context — not a fixed programme.
Functional Chiefs & Executives
A confidential, high-calibre sounding board to uncover blind spots and manage leadership accountability.
Emerging & Seasoned Leaders
Navigate high-stakes executive decisions, stakeholder complexity, or strategic transitions without losing personal authenticity.
Individuals in Transition
Break through traditional expectations and assumptions to discover your next direction on your own terms.
Early-Career Professionals
For those newly out in the working world, navigating the gap between expectation and reality — building confidence, finding their footing, and learning to work in a way that feels true to who they are.
There is strength in going upstream.
Salmon don't wait for calm water. They read the current, use the pauses between the surges, and keep moving towards where they need to be.
Challenging conditions aren't a sign you're off course. Often, they're part of the route, and the way through is steady, deliberate effort rather than force.
The best time to get support is before you think you need it.

Let's TalkIn their words
What people say about working together.
Trusted with the conversations that matter most.
Simon creates an environment where you feel immediately heard, respected, and safe to think openly. He has an exceptional ability to balance deep empathy with thoughtful, direct challenge.
My biggest breakthrough was saying no to a good opportunity that checked all the boxes in my head, so I could trust my heart and focus on building my own practice. I'm grateful to Simon for holding the space that made that clarity possible.

- We use it only for those purposes, we do not sell it, and we share it only with trusted service providers or as you agree.
- What you share in coaching sessions is treated as confidential.
- You can ask to see, correct or withdraw your data at any time by contacting our Data Protection Officer.
1. About this notice
Clearer Ground | Executive Coaching by Simon Ong (“Clearer Ground”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides executive and career coaching.
This Privacy Policy & Data Protection Notice explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal data in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”). It applies to visitors to this website, people who contact us, coaching clients, and individuals whose details we receive from an organisation that sponsors coaching.
“Personal data” means data about an individual who can be identified from that data, or from that data combined with other information we hold.
By using this website, contacting us or engaging our services, you acknowledge this notice. Where the PDPA requires your consent, we will ask for it (see section 5).
2. Our Data Protection Officer
We have appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO), who is responsible for how we handle personal data and is your contact point for any question or request about it.
3. Personal data we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
- When you contact us (through the contact form, email or LinkedIn): your name, email address, the content of your message, and any other details you choose to share, such as your organisation and role.
- When you become a coaching client: your contact details, organisation and role, the background, goals and challenges you choose to share, notes and action plans from sessions, scheduling and correspondence, signed agreements, and invoicing and payment records.
- When an organisation sponsors your coaching: the names and contact details of coachees and sponsor contacts, and the agreed scope of the engagement.
- Testimonials: we publish a testimonial only with the contributor’s permission, and in an anonymised form unless otherwise agreed by the contributor.
- Website technical data: see section 14.
Coaching conversations can include sensitive topics. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing. Anything you share is handled with the same care and confidentiality (see section 7).
4. How we use your personal data
We collect, use and disclose personal data only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances and that we have told you about, namely:
- responding to your enquiries and arranging an introductory conversation;
- assessing whether coaching is a good fit and agreeing the terms of an engagement;
- delivering coaching, including scheduling sessions, keeping session notes and following up on agreed actions;
- administration, such as invoicing, payment, record-keeping and communication about your engagement;
- where an organisation sponsors your coaching, reporting to that organisation only as set out in the engagement agreement you have agreed to;
- meeting our legal, regulatory, tax and insurance obligations, and protecting our legal rights;
- improving our services, using information that does not identify you wherever possible.
We will not use your personal data for a new purpose without first telling you and, where required, obtaining your consent.
5. Consent and withdrawing consent
We collect, use and disclose your personal data with your consent. You give it when you submit the contact form, email us with your details, or sign an engagement agreement. Where you voluntarily give us your details for an obvious purpose, such as asking us to get back to you, we treat this as your consent for that purpose. The PDPA also allows us to rely on other bases in some situations, such as where the data is needed to perform our agreement with you.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by giving reasonable notice in writing to our DPO. We will tell you the likely consequences (for example, we may no longer be able to continue coaching you) and will act on your request within a reasonable time, normally within 10 business days. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we have already done lawfully, and we may keep information we are legally required to keep.
6. Who we share your personal data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where needed, and only with:
- service providers who help us run our practice, such as email, calendar and video-conferencing, document storage, website hosting and accounting providers, who may use the data only to provide their services to us;
- a sponsoring organisation, only to the extent set out in your engagement agreement and as you have agreed;
- professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants, auditors and insurers, where needed;
- government agencies, regulators or courts, where required or authorised by law.
7. Confidentiality of coaching conversations
We treat what you share in coaching sessions as confidential. Where an organisation sponsors your coaching, we agree in advance, and in writing, what if anything is reported to that organisation. Beyond that, we will not disclose the content of your sessions without your consent, except where required by law, a court or a regulator.
8. Transfers outside Singapore
Some of our service providers store or process data on servers outside Singapore. Where your personal data is transferred outside Singapore, we take steps to ensure it receives a standard of protection comparable to that under the PDPA, for example through contractual or other arrangements with the provider.
9. How we protect your personal data
We make reasonable security arrangements to protect personal data from unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or loss.
The contact form on this website opens your own email program to send us a message; our website does not store what you type. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send highly sensitive information (such as identification numbers or financial account details) in an initial enquiry.
10. How long we keep your personal data
We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes in this notice or for legal, tax or business needs.
When personal data is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to dispose of it securely or anonymise it so that it can no longer be associated with an identifiable individual, where appropriate.
11. Accuracy of your personal data
We make reasonable efforts to keep your personal data accurate and complete. Please let us know if your details change.
12. Accessing and correcting your personal data
You may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you and how it has been used or disclosed in the past year, or ask us to correct it. Please write to our DPO (see section 2) with your name, your contact details and what you are asking for. We may need to verify your identity first.
13. Data breaches
If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you significant harm, or is of a significant scale, we will notify the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) and affected individuals as required by the PDPA.
